Problem Synopsis

Avaya 2008 DST Update for Conversant V8/R9 UnixWare 7.1.1:

This patch updates the SCO UnixWare 7.1.1 Time Zone (TZ) files to comply with new Daylight Savings rules that are implemented in 2008.

Installation Instructions:

Download the IVRdstV8-k.ds file to /var/spook/pkg directory. Make sure to use "bin" when transferring the file.

  1. Login to the Avaya IVR V8/R9 system as root.
  2. Verify vs+sp1 is installed. Type: pkginfo vs+sp1

If the package name, INTUITY Runtime Processing Package - Service Pack 1, is not returned, install Conversant V8/R1 Service Pack 1.

  1. Verify ptf7725 patch is installed. Type: pkginfo -l ptf7725

If the VERSION returned is not, "a", or if you receive and error when running this command, you need to first install ptf7725a patch

  1. Stop the voice system with the command: stop_vs; stop_wait
  2. Type: cd /var/spool/pkg
  3. Type: pkgadd -d $PWD/IVRdstV8-k.ds
  4. Press Enter to accept the default installation. If you are prompted to answer any other questions, answer y.
  5. After the software is installed, shutdown and reboot the voice system with
    shutdown -i6 -g0 -y

Uninstall Instructions:

  1. Login to the Avaya IVR R9 system as root.
  2. Stop the voice system with the command: stop_vs; stop_wait
  3. Type: pkgrm IVRdst-k
