Avaya IP Softphone is a Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) enabled client-based telephony application for the PC or laptop running Microsoft Windows operating system. Avaya IP Softphone provides access to Avaya Communication Manager (CM 2.0 and above) software station features (except call center agent features). It provides productivity features, such as easy-to-use graphical user interfaces, access to Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) compatible databases, and integration with contact managers such as Microsoft Outlook. Avaya iClarity, Avaya's Voice-over-IP (VoIP) audio engine, is integrated in the application to provide superior audio performance for the Road Warrior (Voice over IP) configuration. Also included is support for instant messaging and presence tracking when connected to an Avaya SIP Enablement Services (SES), and Microsoft Office Communicator, and IBM Sametime Connect.
