MySQL is susceptible to a buffer overflow attack by authenticated remote users. Users with permissions to create user-defined functions could craft a function to execute arbitrary code through the use of a long function_name field. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2005-2558 to this issue.
