1. Overview:

A possible flaw was found in the shared code among many X Window System server applications when allocating memory for large pixmaps. This flaw has the potential to cause an integer overflow, allowing a locally authenticated user to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user the X server was running as. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2005-2495 to this issue.
