Shell command injection allows for the arbitrary command execution of Linux shell commands from web page input fields. Specially crafted commands entered into a vulnerable input field could be executed at the same privilege level as the logged in user.
Various Avaya products with maintenance web pages have certain pages that are vulnerable to shell command injection. This issue has been given a Risk Level of Low since these pages are only accessible by authenticated users.

Recommended Actions:
For all system products with shell command injection vulnerabilities,
Avaya recommends that customers restrict local and network access to the
server. This restriction should be enforced through the use of physical
security, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and other generally-accepted networking
practices until such time as an update becomes available and can be
installed.
