1. Overview:

The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) contains the software and tools that users need to run applets and applications written using the Java programming language.

A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been reported in the way Javadoc generates documentation pages. A remote attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability to inject an arbitrary web script or HTML. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures Project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2007-3503 to this issue.

A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in the way Java Web Start performs URL parsing on JNLP files. An attacker who could cause a JNLP file to be opened could potentially execute arbitrary code. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures Project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2007-3655 to this issue.

A vulnerability has been reported in the way that JSSE processes SSL/TLS handshake requests. A remote attacker who is able to connect to a JSSE-based service could trigger this flaw leading to a denial-of-service. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures Project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2007-3698 to this issue.

A vulnerability has been found in the applet class loader, which could lead to an untrusted applet circumventing network access restrictions. The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures Project (cve.mitre.org) has assigned the name CVE-2007-3922 to this issue.
