Input Validation Vulnerabilities in Avaya SES SIP Server

1. Overview:

The SIP server on several versions of Avaya SIP Enablement Services (SES) was found to contain input validation vulnerabilities. This could potentially allow for an authenticated SIP client to execute arbitrary code. Avaya believes the actual threat to exploit this vulnerability to be extremely low given the product's design.

Recommended Actions:
For all vulnerable versions of Avaya SES, Avaya recommends that customers restrict local and network access to the server. This restriction should be enforced through the use of physical security, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and other generally-accepted networking practices until such time as an update becomes available and can be installed.
