Command parameters

ParameterDescription

<0-360 | global>

Specifies a holddown period or uses the global timer. During the holddown period, RIP continues to advertise the garbage route with a metric of infinity (16). If a valid update for a garbage route is received within the holddown period, the switch adds the route back into the routing table. If no update is received, the switch deletes the garbage list entry. If the interface holddown timer is configured, this setting overrides the global holddown timer and does not change if the global holddown timer is modified.
