Restore Messaging System
Requests to have PARTNER Messaging perform a Restore must be initiated by the
System Manager and can be originated via Touch-Tone System Administration or
the terminal interface. When you request a System Restore, PARTNER Messaging
reads data that was previously stored on the Port Card during a successful Backup,
and writes it to the PARTNER Messaging system's memory.
|

Notes:
|
- Before initiating a Restore, if the PARTNER Messaging module is defective,
it should be replaced. If the same module is going to be re-used, it
should first be reinitialized to factory default settings. Call the
helpline at 1 800 628-2888 for assistance or call your authorized dealer.
- PARTNER Messaging must be in idle status for the Restore process to
begin. If any voice messaging ports are in use (that is, off-hook),
the Restore request will be rejected.
- If the system cannot initiate a Restore, note the error message, and
call the helpline at 1 800 628-2888 for assistance or call your authorized
dealer.
- PARTNER Messaging voice messaging services are not available while
a Restore is in progress.
- Once initiated, the Restore process cannot be interrupted by the System
Manager.
- The system automatically restarts following a successful Restore.
The current terminal session is dropped and cannot be reestablished
until the system has rebooted itself. You must reestablish a remote
or local terminal session to perform subsequent functions.

If you need your entire system backed up and restored, use the PC-based system
administration software. See the PARTNER Messaging Release 1.0 System
Administration guide for more information.
