If a line has been assigned VMS Coverage using the communications system #206 Option 3 programming procedure, the line must be assigned an owner using the PARTNER Messaging Line Ownership programming procedure. A call coming in on an "owned" line will be handled by PARTNER Messaging based on the extension type. If the extension type is "Mailbox," the caller receives Call Answer Service and the caller hears the mailbox greeting. If the extension type is "Automated Attendant," the call is handled by the Automated Attendant associated with the extension.
