Authentication file installation

The authentication file contains the logons and passwords Avaya services personnel use to access the Avaya server. Ensure that a valid authentication file is present. If not, the system blocks all access to the Messaging system from any logon.

The authentication file is created on an Avaya services support system and downloaded to the Avaya server. You can only change the file using this support system. To change the authentication information, replace the entire file. If the authentication file is missing or corrupted, the system denies all logins to the Avaya server. This does not prevent the Messaging system from running but blocks further administration until you install a new authentication file through the System Platform console domain.
NoteNote

If the authentication file is not installed, the system displays an error message that the system cannot display the authentication file information.
