Implementing fax

Using Messaging, you can receive incoming faxes through the inbound (native) fax and third-party methods. In order to provide fax capabilities to users in Messaging, you must perform the following:

1. Ensure that the telephony server uses the T.38 fax codec for fax calls.

2. Administer the external SMTP host. For more information, see Administering the external SMTP host.

3. Configure the CoS for fax support. For more information, see Class of Service field descriptions.

4. Configure the application server to receive fax. For more information, see Enabling fax.

5. In User Preferences, specify the email address where you want the system to forward the fax.
