Restoring application files

If your Messaging topology includes more than one application role for a specific site, restore the Messaging application data set that you previously backed up on to each subsequent application server for the site.

If your topology includes multiple sites, the sites will have different data sets. Therefore, do not restore backed-up files from one site to servers that support a different site. Instead, repeat the procedures in this chapter on a per-site basis.

Before you begin

Before restoring previously backed-up data sets:
  • Integrate the application server for a site with your telephony server.

  • Ensure that you have the information that you entered on the Backup Now Web page.

  • Ensure that Messaging is not running.

Procedure

  1. On the Administration menu, click Server (Maintenance) > Data Backup/ Restore > View/Restore Data.
  2. In the View current backup contents in area, select Network Device or Local Directory. Use the same information that you used when you backed up the data:
    1. Method
    2. User Name
    3. Password
    4. Host Name
    5. Directory
  3. Click View and then select the audix-ap backup file.
  4. Click Restore.

If there is a mismatch between the server names or backup versions, you must perform a force restore.

Repeat these steps for each additional application server.

  5. Restart Messaging.

For more information, see Stopping Messaging and Starting Messaging.
