Obtaining the virtual server instance user ID

Procedure

Sign in to the Amazon Web Services Management console.
Go to Services > Compute, and click EC2.

The system displays the EC2 Management Console page.
In the left navigation pane, click Instances.
Select a server instance, and click Connect.
On the Connect To your Instance page, view the user ID.
Example:
```
ssh -i "example.pem" ec2-user@<IP address>
```
The user name is ec2-user. Use this user ID to connect to the Linux server.
