Event name

PCXI_00004

Event text

Caught unknown exception in function {0} calling function {1}

Event level

Error or Fatal event. No alarm is generated.

Trigger component

Media Server CCXML process

Problem description

{0} - The function that caught an exception.

{1} - The function that was requested.

If the function that caught the unknown exception was Main, this event is a fatal error because catastrophic problems happened and the cause was indeterminate.

If the function that caught the unknown exception was in SessionRouter, an incoming or outgoing message could not be properly handled. This problem could be caused by a nonexistent session that a message referenced.

Proposed Solution

Procedure

  1. Restart the Media Server from the EPM if one of the following occurred:

    • The Media Server is in a Failed state.

    • The Media Server does not take calls.

    • This error event is reoccurring.

  2. If the error event happened in Main, check the EPM for errors and warnings.
  3. If tracing is enabled on the Media Server for the CCXML, review the process log for CXI on the Media Server.
  4. If the source of the problem cannot be determined, collect all the Media Server logs and contact Avaya Technical Support.
    Note:

Before contacting Avaya Technical Support, try to reproduce the problem by setting the CCXML tracing to Finest.
