Alarm Codes page field descriptions

Use this page to view the existing alarm codes settings or to change the alarm settings and alarm delivery settings.

Alarm Codes table

Field or Button	Description
Print	Prints all the alarm code setting details.
Export	Opens a dialog box. In this dialog box, you can open the alarm code setting details as a Microsoft Excel file or save it on your local machine.
Reset to default	Restores the default settings for all fields.
Selection check box	Indicates the alarms you want to select.
Alarm Code	The unique identification code associated with the alarm.
Enabled	The options are: Yes: Alarm is generated for the corresponding event. No: Alarm is not generated for the corresponding event.
Severity	The severity level of the alarm. The options are: Critical: Critical alarms describe problems that interrupt the service and require immediate action. Major: Major alarms describe serious problems those need to be fixed as soon as possible. Minor: Minor alarms describe problems that do not require immediate action but need monitoring.
Destination	The destination links the alarm code to the SNMP trap destinations. The options are: NMS: Sends SNMP traps to a customer-provided Network Management System (NMS). SSG/SAL: Sends SNMP traps to an Avaya Services Security Gateway (SSG)/Secure Access Link (SAL). Email Groups: Delivers alarms through email to the specified recipients configured in selected email groups. Syslog: Convert the alarm to syslog formatted message and send alarm notifications to the syslog server.

	Note:
	You can change the destination of multiple alarms. To select all alarms, click the check box in the header row.

Destination

Select the destination for the alarm.

The options are:

NMS: Sends SNMP traps to a customer-provided Network Management System (NMS).
SSG/SAL: Sends SNMP traps to an Avaya Services Security Gateway (SSG)/Secure Access Link (SAL).
Note:

The Init services user only can view and modify the SSG/SAL alarm notifications.
Email: Delivers alarms through email to the specified recipients.
Syslog: Convert the alarm to syslog formatted message and send alarm notifications to the syslog server.

Yes

Enables the destination for the selected alarm.

No

Disables the destination for the selected alarm.

Submit

Changes the alarm destination settings for the selected alarm.
