Avaya one-X Communicator R6.0 SP3 is a full installer, as such it can be installed by itself. 

The major improvements and enhancements in R6.0 SP3 Product Version 6.0.3.01 for Avaya one-X Communicator are:

  • Dialed numbers now map to contacts
  • Searching outlook contacts now includes contacts with special characters ä,ë,ö 

Following installation upgrade is supported from:

  • R5.2 SP5 – Product Version 5.2.0.24                                

Avaya one-X® Communicator R6.0 SP3 Product Version 6.0.3.01 requires the following installed software applications.

NOTE: Installation will be halted if not previously installed on your operating system:

  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update Version 8.0.59193 (this specific version required for Avaya one-X® Communicator R5.2 SP1 and later.)

This required executable is included in the ‘onexc_6.0.3.01.zip’. Please install this before installing Avaya one-X® Communicator R6.0 SP3.

Avaya one-X Communicator R6.0 SP3 Product Version 6.0.3.01, 'onexc_6.0.3.01.zip' contains the following:

  • vcredist_x86.exe
  • onexc_setup_6.0.3.01.msi
  • readme.txt

Avaya one-X® Communicator R6.0 SP3 installer will display a message if the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package application is not installed on the system.  If you receive this message, first, install the required Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update by launching the vcredist_x86.exe file. After this process completes, then install the Avaya one-X® Communicator R6.0 SP3 Product Version 6.0.3.01 by launching the onexc_setup_6.0.3.01.msi.

During installation, the option to select Avaya one-X® Portal and/or video integration features no longer exists. These two features are installed by default and require server related administration support and configuration in the Avaya one-X® Communicator Settings tab. The options to select Lenovo integration (not supported) and Citrix integration features (supported through use of Avaya one-X® Communicator Admin Tool) have also been removed.

  • If you are upgrading from Avaya one-X® Communicator R1.0 or R5.2 and were using one-X® Portal integration and/or video features, you will need to enable these features from MenuàSettingsàPhone and/or MenuàSettingsàAccount tabs, respectively
  • Avaya one-X® Portal Integration is not supported in SIP mode
  • If you have multiple cameras (such as built-in camera supplied by your PC Manufacturer), you need to explicitly make a preferred camera selection in the Video Setting screen for video calls
  • Silent Installation – instructions to install H.323 protocol and all supported features:

msiexec /i onexc_setup_6.0.3.01.msi ADDLOCAL=Complete,H.323,Outlook_Integrator,IE,FIREFOX INST_OUT_1XC=1 INST_IE_1XC=1 INST_FIREFOX_1XC=1 /l*v C:\install.log /qn

  • On 64 bit O/S’s, VC redistributable of 32 bit version is required because Avaya one-X® Communicator is a 32 bit application. Therefore even after installing 64 bit version of VC redistributable, installer will prompt to install 32 bit version of VC redistributable

Avaya one-X® Communicator Release 6.0 with Service Pack 2 (Product Version 6.0.2.01)

The major improvements and enhancements in R6.0 SP2 Product Version 6.0.2.01 for Avaya one-X Communicator are: 

  • Contact searches using Outlook integration now support text strings separated by a space
  • Resolved IE8 Click to Dial issue with Google image searches
  • Upper Case Umlaut characters are now displayed correctly
  • Outlook Integration logging can now be disabled

 Following installation upgrade is supported from:

  • R5.2 SP5 – Product Version 5.2.0.24                            

Avaya one-X® Communicator Release 6.0 with Service Pack 1 (Product Version 6.0.1.16)

The major improvements and enhancements in R6.0 SP1 Product Version 6.0.1.16 for Avaya one-X Communicator are:  

  • Language Support: Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Parisian French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, and Russian
  • NOTE – The operating system language must be English or match the language of the Avaya one-X Communicator application.  For example; Avaya one-X Communicator in Italian is only supported on an English or Italian operating system.  It is not supported on a German operating system.   

  • Geo-redundancy with failover/failback supported in SIP My Computer mode only (not supported with  Desk phone or Other Phone modes)
  • In SIP, Click-to-Email within Favorites (Enterprise Contacts) is now supported
  • Avaya one-X Communicator will no longer ring continuously when used as an attendant backup

     Enclose exact words or phrases in double quotes. Include plus (+) to require words, minus (--) to exclude words, and OR between words. i.e. forwarding OR coverage + "all calls"-- remote

     

    Don't include "special" characters in your search (i.e. &, <, >, *, $, / ,\, ....)

     

    The more exact the phrases are to the actual title or string of text in a document, the better the results
