Web Administration overview

To use Web Administration, you need to first log in through the login screen, which is loaded by your browser when you select Web Administration from the Web admin entry screen.

You log in by entering the username and password that was assigned to you by the system (root level) administrator.

There are up to three frames displayed in the browser window. The left frame shows the main menu, which provides a task oriented set of hyperlinks to screens where specific administration can be done. When you click a hyperlink, one or more screens are loaded by the browser into the frame or frames on the right side of the browser window. If there are two frames on the right, the top-right frame displays a set options or fields, and the bottom-right frame will display information.

To fill in fields, either type information into a window or select an option from a pull-down menu. After fields are filled in, you can typically:

• Click a Submit button to accept the values you entered and go to another screen
• Click Cancel to return to the previous screen without accepting the values
• Click Reset to load defaults into the fields

Note:
If you click Submit with one or more drop-down lists empty, the browser displays an error message.

To print information displayed in a frame, use one of the following procedures.

• From Internet Explorer:
1. Right-click a point inside the frame, and then select Print from the drop-down menu. The browser displays the Print dialog box.
2. Verify that the selections in the dialog box are correct, and then click OK.
• From Netscape:
1. Click a point inside the frame.
2. Choose File > Print from the browser menu. The browser displays the Print dialog box.
3. Under Print Frames, select The selected frame.
4. Verify that the other selections in the dialog box are correct, and then click OK.
