Install Announcement Sets, Updates, and Other Software Packages

Additional software packages, primarily additional announcement sets, may be installed from a CD inserted into your laptop or from technical support websites.

If you are installing software other than announcement sets, be sure to coordinate with your services support center. The type of update determines how you perform the update.

Most software installations require the voice system to stop. Plan to do the installation during low usage hours.

Obtaining remote field updates and language files for CM Messaging

One or more remote field updates (RFUs) may be needed. You need to also
determine whether optional languages are used. If so, obtain the data files.

To obtain an CM Messaging RFU file

1. On the Avaya Support Web site, click on Find Documentation and Downloads by
   Product Name.
2. Under the letter "C", select CMM Messaging Application.
3. Click Downloads. To download the CMM patch software:
   Click on CMM Embedded Messaging Application Patches.
   Click on the service pack file name for this release.
   For example, C6072rf+b.rpm.
4. Click on Save and browse to the location on your laptop where you want to save the file.

Obtaining Optional language files

Optional languages are any language other than English (us-eng or us-tdd). If optional languages will be used with this CMM, you can also download the appropriate language files from the Download Web site.

1. Follow the steps as in Obtaining remote field updates and language files for CMM (above)
2. At step 3, select CM Messaging application Languages.

Software Installation and Advanced Software Installation for CM Messaging

On the CM Messgaing Web page, there is a link to download and update the required software for the messaging system. The downloads include RFUs, Announcements and so on.

To install software for the messaging system:

1. Under Software Management, you have two options: Software Installation, Advanced Software Installation. The system displays a page where you can provide a path over the LAN to install software for the messaging system.
2. Click Continue.
3. Confirm the path over LAN and click Continue. You may be prompted to backup before the upgrade process. The system displays the status of installation. It lists any new software that was installed.

Note: Advanced Software Installation link under Software Management allows download and installation of multiple files.
