Demarcation Points

A demarcation point defines the extent of Avaya's responsibilities for a product. Beyond this point, the customer is responsible for providing overall service. Generally, Avaya is responsible for all Avaya-provided equipment.

Demarcation Point for LAN Connectivity

The demarcation point for the Avaya INTUITY TCP/IP is the media server ethernet ports. The customer is responsible for:

  • The LAN cable
  • The connector at the end of the cable for connection to the media server
  • LAN administration not performed on the media server
  • Maintaining the TCP/IP addresses and administration on the media server after cutover, unless otherwise specified by contract
  • Providing the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway information for administration on the media server

Avaya service technicians who are dispatched for INTUITY AUDIX system installation are not responsible for troubleshooting the customer's LAN.
