Adding a new SNMP trap destination

This topic provides information about adding new SNMP network management stations (NMSs) to the system to receive alarm and event notifications (traps). SNMP NMSs can be configured to receive (but not to acknowledge) system alarms and events.

To add a new SNMP NMS to the system to receive alarm and event notifications (traps):

1. On the Administer SNMP Trap Destinations page, click Add.
2. Complete the fields on the Add New SNMP NMS for Alarms page. You can click the field names or Help to view more information.
3. Click Save.

   The system saves your changes.

4. Click OK to confirm addition of the new NMS for alarms.

   The system displays the Administer SNMP Trap Destinations page with an updated list of NMSs capable of receiving system alarms.
