In addition to the high reliability of the duplicated S8700 Media Servers, the S8300 Media Server in a Local Survivable Processor (LSP) configuration and a survivable remote EPN can be used to provide survivability. Additional recovery capability is embedded in the Communication Manager software that resides on the S8700 Media Server.
