Procedure

To set the number of times that the threshold must be exceeded for an alarm to be generated:

  1. Access Chatter Configuration command mode. To access this mode, enter the following commands:
a. enable (Privileged mode)
b. configure terminal (Configuration mode)
c. module chatter (Chatter Configuration mode)
  1. Enter the following command:

alarm-threshold-exceeded <count>

where <count> is the number of times the threshold must be exceeded for an alarm to be generated.

NOTE: To prevent a few spurious points from setting off an alarm, Avaya recommends that you set the system to generate an alarm when the threshold is exceeded no less than five times. Generally an alarm should indicate a persistent condition.

For more information on this command, see alarm-threshold-exceeded in the CNA Command Reference Guide.
