Creating a group for subnets

You can create a group of subnets so that you can use the group name for all future references to the subnets. Subnet groups save you from having to manually enter multiple commands for multiple subnet addresses.

Use the following commands to create a group and add subnets:

Table 18:  Subnet group commands
Command
Purpose
group
Creates a group, or accesses an existing one.
subnet
Adds a subnet to a group

For example, if the subnets in the previous examples belong to your VPN in New York, you could define a group as follows:

Avaya_ANS (config)# group vpnNY

Avaya_ANS (config-group)# prefix 172.42.0.0/16

Avaya_ANS (config-group)# prefix 172.42.1.0/24

Avaya_ANS (config-group)# end

These commands create a group named vpnNY and add two subnets. Now you can use the group name in place of the subnet addresses.
