Route Maps

The tunnel configuration in the previous section referred to a route map called provider_1, which does not yet exist, so we need to create it, along with an access list to restrict entry. Specify the USTAT module’s VIP address in the access list:

ip access list 188 permit ip host 172.25.5.1 any

route-map provider_1 permit 10

match ip address 188

set ip next-hop 172.30.100.33

The name of the route map, provider_1, must match exactly the name used in the ip policy command when the GRE tunnel interface was created. This string is case sensitive.

The number 10 is a line number, which allows you to insert lines before or after this entry as you expand your policy rules.

The set ip next-hop command should point to the address you use to access the ISP being monitored by this USTAT.

Repeat these commands for each of your USTAT module/ISP pairs.
