Load Optimization with the EFC module

The EFC module can be used very effectively to enhance the load optimization feature. The idea is to send EFC-observed addresses to the decision-maker in order to trigger actions that can result in load optimization. Use the following method to trigger results in load optimization:

• Couples the usual measurement techniques available in CNA with the stream of EFC-observed addresses to stimulate more decision-maker activity.

If you have an adequate source for measurements, this method will yield more informed decisions with performance data.

Use the following commands to configure this feature:

• data-source efc enable: Enables the feature.
• data-source efc action: Specifies whether simulated measurements or real measurements should be used by decision-maker.
• data-source efc sampling-period: Use this to down-sample the number of times an EFC-observed address is sent to the decision-maker, so that it is not flooded with traffic.

NOTE: To take effect, you must restart decision-maker whenever you use these commands.
