The assignment of penalties to links is one of the means available to you for controlling how the CNA system spreads traffic load among your service providers, by biasing the performance scores of selected links.
A penalty value, an integer in the range 0 to 1000, is added to the calculated metric, for the final performance score that determines which links are included in the winner set. You set the value with the penalty command. (The metric that is displayed by the show prefix command includes the penalty adjustment.)
