Prefix Names in Reports

CNA has the ability to include user-defined “.name” files to extend the prefix naming capabilities of the software without extending the basic configuration file. This function requires a text file with single lines formatted as <name> <prefix>.

The name is restricted to 32 characters maximum length starting with a letter and consists of the following characters: letters, digits, dash, and underscore. The file can be named <anything>.name. It has to be copied over to CNA using the copy command. During the copy operation, if any erroneous entries are found in the .name file, they will be skipped and an error message issued.

NOTE: Prefix names are processed is the following sequence: prefix-alias is used first, then .name, then DNS. Note also that the “report prefix-alias” has been enhanced to allow multiple prefixes to have a common prefix-alias.
