	Deploying the Application

Deploying a Dialog Designer speech application to an IVR system, or call control application to a Voice Portal system is a two-stage process.

The first stage involves exporting the application and all its related files to a compressed package, similar to a ZIP file. Depending on where the application will be deployed, this package is a WAR (Web ARchive) file or an EAR (Enterprise ARchive) file. The WAR or EAR file is delivered to the application server where the deployed application will run.

Note:

Avaya recommends that you stop Tomcat before exporting an application. (If you do not, a message dialog box may appear, that can be ignored; it will not adversely affect the export.)

The second stage involves unpacking and installing the WAR or EAR file on the application server. When this is done and the IVR system is configured to run the application, the application is successfully deployed.
