Machine Name	From 1 to 10 alphanumeric characters	Enter a unique name for the AMIS remote system or telephone number.

When creating or changing a remote machine for AMIS, this field can be amisap (preadministered), amisac (casual AMIS), or calld (nonadministered message delivery number).
Location	Display only	Displays the location remote.
Voiced Name?	y = yes n = no	This field contains an n until you record a name for the machine. This field automatically changes to y when you record a name for the machine.
Extension Length	An integer from 3 to 10	The Extension Length depends on the type of AMIS machine you are administering: For amisac machines (AMIS casual or two-step addressing), this field identifies the number of digits a local machine must dial from an AMIS address entered by a subscriber. For example, if the extension length is 7, the INTUITY system dials the dial string (if any) followed by the last seven digits of the number entered by a subscriber. The AMIS prefix is not dialed. For amisap machines (AMIS preadministered or one-step addressing), the extension length field specifies the number of digits a subscriber must enter to identify a remote mailbox ID. The extension length typically matches the extension length of the remote switch. For calld machines (message delivery), the extension length field identifies the number of digits a local machine must dial from a message delivery address entered by a subscriber. For example, if the extension length is 10, the INTUITY system dials the dial string (if any) followed by the last ten digits of the number entered by a subscriber.
Voice ID	Display only	Displays a system-assigned identifier that you must use to identify the machine if you decide to record machine names.
Default Community	An integer from 1 to 15	Enter the number of the default community of subscribers on this remote AMIS machine. A community represents a group of subscribers who are assigned certain messaging privileges and restrictions. Use the feature to group subscriber types. You can then restrict a group from receiving voice messages or from sending to other groups. The Community ID field identifies the community to which a remote subscriber belongs. If you administered your system to use community sending restrictions, enter the default community number for your subscriber population.
Prefix	From 0 to 21 alphanumeric characters	Address prefixes are optional and can be used to help differentiate between remote systems. When these prefixes are used, a user enters the prefix before the remote subscriber's extension when addressing voice messages. To simplify this task, use a short, descriptive prefix. The total length of the prefix plus the extension must not exceed 25 characters. The system uses the prefix only to identify subscribers. It is not used for dialing out, so it does not need to match an area code or office code. The following are examples of possible prefixes: No prefix. The prefix is required only when one or more of the remote subscribers share the same extension numbers as the local subscribers (that is, the extension ranges of the two systems overlap). If there are no overlapping extension numbers, a prefix is not needed. Public network access code. When addressing a message to a remote subscriber, the local subscriber enters the remote subscriber's number as if placing a call to that subscriber. Location code. This method simplifies addressing messages by requiring only an alphanumeric code in front of the extension number. Location codes are shorter and often easier to remember.
Start Ext.	A 3-digit to 10-digit string	Enter the first extensions of the address ranges. The length of the start and end extensions must agree with the number shown in the Extension Length field. Leading zeros might be needed to conform to this requirement. The end extension must be equal to or greater than the start extension. If you specify the same number as the starting and ending extension, a unique machine or telephone number is specified, usually to identify the hunt group number of a remote machine. Up to 10 different ranges can be specified. AMIS address ranges and message delivery address ranges must be unique; they cannot overlap with other AMIS analog networking and/or message delivery address ranges.
End Ext.	A 3-digit to 10-digit string	Enter the last extensions for the ranges of telephone numbers used on the local system. The length of the start and end extensions must agree with the number shown in the Extension Length field. Leading zeros might be needed to conform to this requirement. The end extension must be equal to or greater than the start extension. Up to 10 different ranges can be specified. AMIS address ranges and message delivery address ranges must be unique; they cannot overlap with other AMIS analog networking and/or message delivery address ranges.
Warnings	Display-only	This field displays a warning when a duplication or overlap of an extension range for another machine is being assigned.
