Administering a Loopback Test Machine

If a remote subscriber sends an AMIS message to this mailbox, the local system sends a copy of the message to the incoming mailbox of the remote subscriber to indicate the message was received. The local loopback test mailbox keeps a copy of the message header in its outgoing mailbox.

To administer a loopback test mailbox:

1. Start at the Administration main menu and select:

Global Administration
     Messaging Administration

The system displays the SSH User Authentication dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm, in the User name field and your password in the Password field. Click Login. The system then displays the AUDIX Command Prompt screen.

2. At the enter command: prompt, enter add subscriber subscriber name where subscriber name is a name that is not defined for any other subscriber (for example, you might use the name "loopback").

The system displays the Add Subscriber screen, page 1.

3. Type an unused local extension in the Extension: field.
    

   Note: Make a note of this extension. You must enter the same extension number on the System Parameters Analog-Network screen when you administer message delivery parameters.

4. Press F3 (Enter).
5. Continue with Administering Analog Networking Parameters.
