analog networking trace and viewing the networking trace log.
Performing an AMIS
Analog Networking Trace
To perform an AMIS analog networking
trace:
- Start at the Administration
main menu and select:
Global Administration
Messaging Administration
The system displays the SSH
User Authentication dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm,
in the User name
field and your password in the Password
field. Click Login. The system then displays the AUDIX
Command Prompt screen.
- Enter trace.
The system displays the AMIS
Trace Activation screen.
- In
the
AMIS-TRACE Activated?
field, enter y.
- In the
Trace Level:
field, enter one of the following choices:
- full to trace errors,
protocol, and touchtone information
- normal to trace errors
and protocol
- error to trace errors
- Press F3 (Enter).
- Enter another administrative command at the
enter command:
prompt or click Return to Main.
Viewing the AMIS
Analog Networking Trace Log
To view the AMIS analog networking trace
log:
- Start at the Administration
main menu and select:
Global Administration
Messaging Administration
The system displays the SSH

field and your password in the Password
field. Click Login. The system then displays the AUDIX
Command Prompt screen.
- Enter display amis-trace
The system displays the AMIS
Trace Log Display Selection screen.
- In the
Start
Date:
field, enter the date for which you want to view the log.
- In the
Time:
field, enter the time for which you want to view the log.
- In the
Search
String:
field, enter any words for which you would like to search.
- Press F3 (Enter).
The system displays the AMIS
Trace Log screen.
- Enter another administrative command at the
enter command:
prompt or click Return to Main.
