Adding Members to Enhanced-Lists

This topic provides information on adding members to enhanced-lists:

  • The following can be members of an enhanced-list:
    • Local and remote subscribers.
    • Call delivery numbers, including fax machines
    • Fax extended dialing destinations
    • Email addresses
    • AMIS preadministered subscribers
    • Other enhanced-lists
  • The following users cannot be members of an enhanced-list:
    • Public or private subscriber-owned lists
    • AMIS casual addresses
    • Broadcast mailboxes

To add a member to an enhanced-list:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select Enhanced List Management.

The system displays the Manage Enhanced-Lists page.

  1. Highlight the list to which you want to add members and then click Open the Selected List.
  2. The system displays the Manage Enhanced-List Membership page.

  3. Enter one of the following and then click Add Member or press Enter:
    • The subscriber's name as it appears in the AUDIX system
    • The subscriber's extension (this can also be the extension of another enhanced-list)
    • The subscriber's network (email) address in the format dictated by the email system, for example, username@servername

The new list member appears in the member list.If the extension you added is another enhanced-list, the system puts yes in the E-list? field.

  4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to add additional members.
  5. When you finish adding member names to this enhanced-list, click Back to return to the Manage Enhanced-Lists page.
  6. It is recommended that you print a copy of each enhanced-list for your records. If the enhanced-list contains 15 or fewer members, you can print the Manage Enhanced-List Membership page. If the enhanced-list contains more than 15 members, you can print a report of the completed list. You can use the enhanced-list printout to search multiple lists for duplicate names or potential loops with a networked AUDIX system. Additionally, should you inadvertently delete an enhanced-list, the printed copy provides a source from which to recreate the enhanced-list. (The system's nightly data backup also saves ELA setup data, lists, and memberships.)
