Configuring the Enhanced-List Application

This topic provides information on configuring the Enhanced-List Application.

Before beginning, you must know:

To administer the ELA server:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select Enhanced List Setup.

The system displays the Configure the Enhanced-List Application page.

  2. In the Shadow Mailbox Attributes/Mailbox Extension field, type the extension to be used for the shadow mailbox.
  3. In the Shadow Mailbox Attributes/Community ID field, specify the number of the community assigned to the shadow mailbox, from 2 to 15. This number must be different than the Enhanced-List mailbox Community ID. It is recommended that this number be the column number into which you entered r on the Sending Restrictions Screen. Administer the shadow mailbox community so that it can send messages to all other communities, but cannot receive messages from any other community.
  4. In the Default Enhanced-List Attributes/Class-of-Service field, specify the class-of-service assigned to the Enhanced-List mailbox and the shadow mailbox. This COS is used as the default for all Enhanced-Lists. You can change the class-of-service when you create a list.
  5. In the Default Enhanced-List Attributes/Community ID field, specify the Community ID assigned to be used as the default for Enhanced-List mailboxes, from 1 to 15. This number must be different from the shadow mailbox Community ID. Administer the Enhanced-List mailbox community so that it can send messages to all other communities and receive messages from any community containing subscribers privileged to use Enhanced-List.
  6. Click Save Changes to save the changes on the page. If you have difficulty saving the data on this page, check the Display Subscriber <shadow_mailbox_extension> screen to make sure that you are entering the correct information on Configure the Enhanced-List Application page.
  7. Click Back to return to the Administer the Enhanced-List Application page.
