Changing Voice
Equipment State
|
Use the Change State of Voice Equipment
page to change the state of the installed voice channels.
There are six possible states:
- INSERV: The card or channel is in service and able to carry
a transaction.
- MANOOS: Manual-out-of-service. The card or channel has been
taken out of service with a command issued by a user.
- FOOS: Facility-out-of-service. The card or channel has been
taken out of service by the system. This state occurs when an attempt
is made to put a card or channel in service when either the T/R does
not have loop current or the T1 does not detect the far end.
- BROK: Broken. The card or channel did not pass the diagnostics
and has been taken out of service by the system. A channel cannot
be manually changed to broken. Only a diagnostics failure can put
equipment into the broken state.
- HWOOS: Hardware-out-of-service. The card or channel is out
of service due to one or more of its dependencies being out of service,
broken, or not physically plugged in.
- NETWOOS: Network-out-of-service. Either a B-channel or the
24-B channel card is out of service, while the D-channel is in service
or a D-channel is out of service.
To change the state of the installed voice equipment:
- Start at the Messaging Administration
main menu and select:
Change State
The system displays the
Change State of Voice Equipment page.
- Complete the fields on the page. For more information, click the field names or Help on the web-based administration page.
Caution:
Selecting YES in the Change Immediately? field disconnects
calls in progress. Do not select YES unless call traffic
is extremely low. If you select NO, the cards or channels
busy out when they are free of calls. Busying out cards and channels
only when they are free of calls can take longer, but calls are
not disconnected.
You must enter a value in the New State and Equipment fields to
properly execute the change state procedure.
- Click Save to accept the page
settings.
