This topic provides information
about the following components of the platform:
Chassis
The platform contains six PCI
slots, three of which are used to support up to three analog-line interface
cards in a tower configuration.
The chassis is equipped with a cooling
fan.
Capacities
The INTUITY AUDIX LX system supports
call traffic generated by a maximum of 20,000 local and 500,000 remote
messaging subscribers. It supports up to 12 analog voice/fax channels
and up to 8 networking channels.
The system supports 500 hours
of storage, as well as up to 1,000 INTUITY Message Manager clients with
a maximum of 32 simultaneous sessions. Text-to-speech sessions are limited
to four.
Processor
The platform CPU is a 2 GHz Pentium 4 processor and is
equipped with 256 MB of RAM.
Voice/Fax Ports
Up to three 4-port analog-line
interface cards are supported to provide up to 12 ports of voice and
fax.
Storage Devices
The platform is equipped with an IDE
hard drive and a CD-RW drive, which is used for software installation and
for backups.
A portion of the hard disk is reserved
for nonspeech data storage, such as data for the LINUX operating system, the
INTUITY AUDIX LX system platform executables and data, and the INTUITY AUDIX
LX system software executables. This disk area is very important for proper
INTUITY system operations and cannot be changed or used for any other purposes.
The rest of the hard disk is used for
storing messaging components such as voice messages, subscribers' personal
greetings, and automated attendant voiced menus.
Controllers
The video controller, LAN controller, and IDE controller reside
on the motherboard.
Ports
The platform contains a single parallel
port, two serial ports, two USB ports, and one 10/100 Ethernet port. The serial
ports can be used for remote diagnostics and serial switch integration, if
applicable. The USB ports can be used for an external modem.
Monitor, Keyboard,
and Mouse
A monitor, keyboard, and mouse are required
for local system operation. A monitor is available for purchase for use with
the INTUITY AUDIX LX system. Depending on your location, the keyboard and
mouse are provided with the system. Contact your sales representative for
more information.
Modems
Access for remote diagnostics is
provided through an external modem. A serial modem is provided with
the INTUITY AUDIX LX system. A USB modem is also supported and is available
for purchase. Contact your sales representative for more information.
Uninterruptible Power Supply
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is strongly recommended
for use with INTUITY systems.
Terminals
While it is recommended that you use the Web interface
to administer the INTUITY AUDIX LX system, you can also administer the
system remotely through the use of a modem and one of the following
terminals:
- Avaya 4410 (for PROCOMM PLUS 4410 or Terranova
emulation)
- Avaya 715
- Avaya 4425
- vt100 (for vt100 or vt131 emulation)
