The Appearance functions can be assigned to all Avaya multi-line digital phones. Before programming any other functions, at least one Call Appearance button must be setup.
Within the Action column, the following functions are available for the Appearance function:
Call - Assigns the Appearance function to the corresponding button. Call Appearance enables the corresponding button on your phone to signal when there is an incoming call. At least one Call Appearance button must be created before any other appearance buttons can be programmed. No information is required for the corresponding Telephone Number cell.
Bridge - Assigns the Bridge Appearance function to the corresponding button. Bridge Appearance enables an incoming call to be displayed on both the destination extension as well as the extension of the bridged user. The corresponding Telephone Number cell must be defined with a system username and a button number for that user.
Coverage - Assigns the Coverage Appearance function to the corresponding button. This function enables the user for whom it is being programmed to cover for calls coming into a defined user destination when that user's extension is unanswered after a defined time period. A username must be defined in the corresponding Telephone Number cell.
Line - Assigns the Line Appearance function to the corresponding button. This function assigns specific lines to specific buttons on a user's phone. Lines need to be defined and then selected for the corresponding Telephone Number cell.
Typically, when a line appearance key is selected, secondary dial tone is generated. When the line appearance is mapped to a short code using the DialDirectHotLine short code feature, no secondary dial tone is generated and the number is dialed directly.
For information on programming appearance functions in relation to key and lamp, please see the "IP Office Key and Lamp Operations" manual.
