Supported Country and Locale Settings

When a new or defaulted system's configuration is first opened in Manager, the system's Locale is set to match that of the PC running Manager. This Locale can be changed through the System form if required.

The system's Locale sets the default ringing patterns and caller display settings.

The locale also controls the language that a voicemail server will use for prompts. Note however that the range of languages installed and supported on the voicemail server may differ from those supported by the Control Unit. For details refer to the Voicemail Installation & Administration Manual.

This list indicates locale settings supported within the Control Unit software for the functions listed. Note: This does not necessarily indicate support, availability or approval for IP Office within that country.

Table header explanation

• Default Caller Display: The display types for analog extension ports.

• Telephony: Indicates that telephony related functions are effected by the locale setting.

• Manager Application: Indicates that text on the Manager application will reflect the language locale setting. If Manager does not support the specific locale language, it will use the most similar language available. For example, if the locale is set to ESR (which is not supported in Manager), Manager will use Mexico Spanish for its text display.

• Handset Display: On handsets with a display window, it indicates the availability of the text content in the corresponding language.

• Embedded Voicemail Audio Clips: Indicates the availability of the Embedded Voicemail audio clips in the corresponding language.

• Voicemail Lite Audio Clips: Indicates the availability of the Voicemail Lite audio clips in the corresponding language.
