This section describes how to set up a TFTP server for downloading software updates to the 4600 Series IP Telephones.
CAUTION: The files defined by the TFTP server configuration have to be accessible from all IP telephones. Ensure that the filenames match the names in the upgrade script, including case, since UNIX systems are case-sensitive.
NOTE: SIP IP telephones download upgrade script files, and hence, firmware and settings files, from HTTP servers only.
You can use any TFTP application you want. However, Avaya recommends using the TFTP server capability on the S8300 media server or the Avaya IP Telephone File Server Application.
