Partial Backup screen

This screen is used to set up and perform a partial backup of system data.

Field descriptions

Field

Description

NFS Mount Directory

The Network File System mount directory where the backup file is stored.

Values: Path to an existing directory.

Defaults to the NFS mount directory set in the default backup parameters.

For example: /mnt/br

Backup File Title

(Optional) A description of the backup file. Used as part of the backup file name.

Values: Any string less than or equal to 50 characters in length.

Example: MyBackup

This title is used to create a file name. In the example, the file name for the partial backup is similar to: MyBackup.D042903T090700.incr

If no Backup File Title is entered, a file title is created by the system.

Days

The number of days that files are backed up (counting the present day).

Values: 1-90

For example, the most recent day is entered as 1, and the most recent two days are entered as 2. Note that if this field is filled in, nothing can be entered for Directory or File List.

Directory

The directory to back up.

Values: Any path

If this field is filled in, nothing can be entered for Days or File List.

File List

The file that contains a list of backed-up files.

Values: Full path

The File List is a text file that must be edited from a terminal. Note that if this field is filled in, nothing can be entered for Days or Directory.

Priority

The priority of the backup process compared to other processes.

Values: low, high

Stop the voice system before backup?

Choice to automatically stop the voice system before a backup.

Values: yes, no

Avaya recommends the yes option for partial backups.

Enter an Oracle username with permissions to start/stop Oracle

The user name for logging in to Oracle. This Oracle user account must have permission to stop and start the Oracle server.

Values: Any string.

Note: This field only appears if Oracle is installed locally on the Avaya IR system.
