Description
Installs the Web Administration feature and the system help. Included in this installation is the Jakarta Tomcat servlet engine, which is software developed by the Apache Software Foundation.
2sdk1.4.2_03, if it is not already present on the system, is also installed as a part of AVwebadm package, before the Jakarta Tomcat servlet engine is installed.
The Web Administration tool uses version 5.0.28 of the Tomcat web server. The required Tomcat servlet engine is installed with this Web Administration package. In order for the Web Administration tool to be accessible to people needing remote access, a PPP modem connection is required.
All operations done with the Web Administration tool are performed using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL is a protocol for encrypting and securely transmitting data over networks. Using it with the Web Administration tool helps ensure that all administrative work done remains secure, no matter where the administrator is doing the work
