Running the Alarm Origination Test

Use the Execute Alarm Origination Test page to verify that Alarm Origination is functioning properly. When you run this test, a test alarm is sent to the remote service center and to the destination specified on the Alarm Management page.

To run the Alarm Origination Test:

  1. From the Administration menu, select Diagnostics > Alarm Origination Test > Execute Alarm Origination Test.
    The system displays the Execute Alarm Origination Test page.
  2. Click Save to execute the Alarm Origination Test. A message displays that the tests will run in the background and can take up to five minutes to complete.
  3. Wait approximately five minutes and then, from the Administration menu, select Diagnostics > Alarm Origination Test > View Latest Test Results to view the test results.
  4. Click Return to Main to return to the Administration menu.
