Selecting the failover peer servers

To select the peer mail servers to become active for an MAS when the primary peer server becomes unavailable, use the Messaging dialog box, Advanced tab.

To select the failover peer servers for an MAS:

  1. In the Voice Mail System Configuration window, click Message Application Servers.
  2. Note: You may need to expand the tree to see the MAS you want.
  3. Under that MAS, double-click Messaging.
  4. The system displays the Messaging dialog box, with the General tab active.

  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. On the upper right border of the Fail over peers list, click the Add icon .
  7. The system displays a new line in the Fail over peers list.

  8. Enter the name of the server you want as a candidate failover peer server.
  9. From the Selected Peer Messaging Server drop-down list, click the server that should be the first peer server to be checked by the MAS for providing backup service should the primary peer server fail.
