Overview of creating subscriber accounts under Exchange 2000/2003

You create an Avaya Modular Messaging subscriber account by enabling Modular Messaging for an object in the Active Directory. You can enable Modular Messaging for the following object types:

Mail-enabled user object A user who can receive e-mail in Exchange

Contact object An Active Directory object capable of receiving e-mail, such as an Octel Analog Networking user on a remote system

Group object A group of users

You enable Modular Messaging using the Modular Messaging property page on the user object. The Modular Messaging property page is added to every mail-enabled user object in Active Directory when Avaya Modular Messaging is installed.

When modifying Avaya Modular Messaging details for a subscriber, properties may be lost if subscribers change their Avaya Modular Messaging properties using Subscriber Options shortly before or after the administrator’s modification.
