Setting up Custom as Octel Analog Networking recipients

Each Octel Analog Networking custom recipient requires a separate Exchange directory entry for the recipient addresses. This means that the recipient may have two directory entries, one for the e-mail mailbox, and the second for the voice mailbox. To distinguish between the two, we recommend that you add the suffix “via voice mail” to the voice mail directory entry.

Subscribers can address Octel Analog Networking addresses to custom recipients using Dial By Name and receive spoken name confirmation.

To set up Octel Analog Networking recipients as custom recipients:

  1. Start Exchange Administrator from the Microsoft Exchange folder.
  2. Click File > New Custom Recipient.
  3. The system displays the New E-mail Address dialog box.

  4. From the list of address types, click Octel Analog Networking Address.
  5. Click OK.
  6. The system displays the New Octel Analog Networking Address Properties dialog box.

  7. In the Display Name field, enter the recipient’s display name.
  8. In the Address field, enter the recipient’s Octel Analog Networking address.
  9. The address includes both the prefix and mailbox number, without a separator. The address must conform to addressing scheme rules. See the Avaya Modular Messaging Concepts and Planning Guide for more information on addressing schemes.

  10. Click OK or Apply.
  11. In the Properties dialog box, General tab, Display Name field, re-enter the display name.
  12. Click OK.
