Overview of Octel Analog Networking under Exchange 5.5 administration |
Using an Octel Analog Networking gateway, Avaya Modular Messaging subscribers can exchange voice messages with any other Octel Analog Networking-enabled voice mail system.
When Octel Analog Networking was administered under Exchange 5.5, four tabs were added to the Microsoft Exchange Administrator application specifically for configuring an Octel Analog Networking gateway for a voice mail domain.
The Octel Analog Networking tabs are as follows:
Use to configure Octel Analog Networking properties for a voice mail domain.
Use to set up the communication between Avaya Modular Messaging and other Octel Analog Networking-enabled voice mail systems, known as remote Octel Analog Networking nodes.
Use to set up message dispatch schedules. The dispatch schedule determines what time of day messages are sent from the MAS to mailboxes on the remote Octel Analog Networking node.
Use to establish the dialing code required by the PBX to access a remote Octel Analog Networking node.
All other tabs discussed in this chapter are non-Octel Analog Networking tabs and are not required for Octel Analog Networking administration. For information about these tabs, see your Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator documentation.
Familiarity with Exchange Server Administration is assumed throughout this section.
