Defining remote email users

If your subscribers will be frequently sending messages to remote email users or to other email addresses, such as email lists, you can permanently define these email addresses in your local machine. This way, your subscribers can address messages to these email addresses using their telephones.

To define a remote email address to the system:

  1. On the Manage Subscribers page, click Manage in the Remote Subscribers row for the specific trusted server or networked machine to which the remote email user is to be added. If the remote email user does not have a mailbox on a networked machine, or if you do not see the remote email user's machine listed, click Manage in the Remote Subscribers row for Internet.
  2. On the Manage Remote Subscribers page, click Add a New Subscriber.
  3. Complete the fields on the page as necessary. For more information, click the field names or Help.

Note: The address that you enter in the Numeric Address field is the address that local subscribers will use to send messages to the added remote subscriber if they use the telephone user interface (TUI) to send messages.

  4. Click Save.

The system saves the remote subscriber data and returns to the Manage Remote Subscribers page.
