Adding a new external host

The external host file lists the remote machines directly connected to the MSS for which DNS is not used. You can modify the external host information after installation to add a remote machine to the list.

To add a new remote machine to the list of external hosts:

1. On the Administer External Hosts page, click Add.

2. On the Add a New External Host page, for IP Address, enter the IP address of this machine.
3. For Host Name, enter the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the networked machine (for example, etmach.loc.avaya.com).
4. Enter an optional Alias for this machine.
5. Click Save to add the entry to the list.

   The system displays a message that the information has been saved.

6. Click OK.

   The Administer External Hosts page displays the updated list of external hosts.
