Performing Voice Messaging Database Audits

This topic describes how to manually perform Voice Messaging Database Audits on the Message Storage Server (MSS). This topic contains a general procedure that can be used to perform the different types of Voice Messaging Database Audits, which include auditing:

  • mailboxes
  • mailing lists
  • network data
  • voice names
  • subscriber data

To manually perform a Voice Messaging Database Audits:

  1. From the MSS Messaging Administration menu, select Utilities > Messaging DB Audits.
  2. The Message Storage Server Database Audits page displays.

  3. To run an audit, click the audit name.

    The following table lists the available voice messaging database audits.

  4. To Audit
    Click
    Mailboxes
    Start Mailboxes Audit (Mailboxes, Mailbox Data)
    Mailing lists
    Start Mailing Lists Audit (Mail Lists, Delivery Data)
    Network data
    Start Network Data Audit (Machine Translations, Network Translations, Network Data)
    Voice names
    Start Voice Names Audit (Voice Names)
    Subscriber data
    Start Subscriber Data Audit (Subscribers, Delivery Data)
    Nightly audit (manual) Start Nightly Audit (Nightly, Delivery Data)
    Weekly audit (manual) Start Weekly Audit (Weekly, Delivery Data, Network Data, Mailbox Data)

    Note: You can also click History to display a list of the audits run in the past 60 days, including when the audit was run and the results of the audit.

    The system starts the requested audit and displays the progress of the audit in the results page.

    Click Abort to stop an audit that is running. If you exit the page while an audit is running, the audit continues to proceed. When you access an audit page while an audit is in progress, the system indicates that an audit is running and displays the progress of the audit.

  5. Verify that the audit passed or failed. If the audit failed, do the following:
    1. Resolve any active alarms and rerun the audit.
    2. If the audit fails again, contact the remote service center.
    3. If the system is not providing service and the remote service center cannot help immediately, reboot the system.
