Replacing S3400-family server components

The field-replaceable components for an Avaya S3400-family server vary depending on the model:

Messaging Application Server (MAS) components

You can have several Messaging Application Servers (MAS) in an Avaya Modular Messaging system. Optional supplementary servers can also use the same Avaya-provided hardware. For S3400-family MASs or supplementary tracing servers, you can replace the following components on site:

If any other internal components fail, such as the motherboard, you must replace the entire server. For more information, see Server replacement.

 

Message Storage Server (MSS) components

The Message Storage Server (MSS) is offered in two configurations: standard (MSS-S) and high-availability (MSS-H). The field-replaceable components differ slightly between these two models.
